Woo Hoo! An other ATC Challenge!

I really do enjoy making these fun lil cards! I was quite excited to see that the challenge at Our Creative Corner was a color challenge + make an ATC (artist trading card) I also wanted to play along at Catch the Bug where the theme is monochromatic + 3 buttons. I used a fun digi stamp from Bugaboo in the Garden Cat line ( I think this one is called Gardencat Mischief). I sure do love all of Jodie's digi stamps! They fit my style perfectly! I colored w/ pencils & used the very last of my 1/16 pop dots from SU to attach it to the card. The sentiment is a rub on from Pebbles, inc -I found a whole stack of them in the back of my hoarders drawer. I gotta get that thing organized soon!
I am also entering this on There She Goes: no markers allowed!; CPS- the basic layout was inspired by this weeks super sketch; and The Spotted Chick for her Krafty Thursday Challenge #49, use kraft on your project

Will Winter EVER end?!

So I woke up this morning to snow covered ground, again. I know that it isn't unusual, I know that it WILL probably happen again-more than one more time before spring really settles in. but seriously, ENOUGH already! I am SOOOO ready for sunshine & 70 degrees!! I do have to say though, the cold weather we had this weekend did afford me a little time at my craft desk, which always feels good. So I was able to put together this lil somethin somethin to help me get ready for Christmas. Seems like I am always rushing to get cards made & out the door on time (some years I make it, most years I am cutting it very close!)

The cute image is a freebie from The Stamp Fairy for use in the ABC Christmas Challenge (along w/ a sketch). I colored it in w/ my pencils, added glossy accent on the nose & hat & added glitter on the hat for some fun sparkle. The star brads & sentiment are Making Memories I think-they came from the far back corner my hoarders drawer.

close up to show dimension & sparkle

So maybe if I am a good girl & challenge myself to enter at least one Christmas themed challenge a month I won't be in such bad shape when December gets here!

Simple I Love You (yes Mom, it's for you!)

Ok, so it didn't take much to get my mojo flowing last night. As soon as I saw the new challenges posted at Cute Card Thursday (sketch)& at Crafty Sentiments (use the provided freebie, new digi Amy) I could hardly get my supplies out fast enough. I colored this sweet new digi stamp in w/ my pencils & added a couple lil blings for buttons (they don't show up sp well in the photo but they are there! lol!) The circle stamp & sentiment are both from The {Stamps} of Life & the ink is Gypsy from Close to my Heart. The bling is from Michaels, the embossed dot paper is DCWV, & I am not sure where the swirly DP is from.
I am also entering on the following challenges:

Sweet Birthday

Here it is, Monday again! My how time has been flying by. I didn't get to craft much this weekend but my good friend is having a birthday today so I did get to squeeze in some time to throw together a card for her.
I used paper from my scrap pile, my cricut to cut the scalloped & reg circles, and I used a set called birthday4cookie from The [Stamps} of Life. I made my own "pop dots" from folded cardstock pieces for the frosting on top- regular ones were too big. Colored w/ pencils & then added glitter. Bling is Recollections from Michael's

Just Dance!

The challenge this week over at Kraftin Kimmies is anything goes, so I thought I would jump out on a limb lol! I have seen a few examples of merging stamped images & have had an idea for what I wanted to do in my head for a while. Well tonight it made it's way out
I used sweet lil' Charlotte's face & Angry Ballerina's body. Very fun! This is the first round card I have ever made, it was a little difficult to get to stand up the correct way to photograph hee hee! Kept rolling over. I used DP from my scrap pile & was going with the Fab-n-Funky challenge "Girly". Also, Catch The Bug, Scallops, Creative Cowgirls, Monochromatic, Simply Create also Monochromatic, & Stamping Vacation, monochromatic pink. The pearls are Recollections (picked them up on clearance at Michael's love that!) The big flower is a K&co embelly & the little flowers are punched. I colored my image w/ pencils & then added a ribbon bow for a lil extra pizzaz

For my favorite Lil' Buckaroo

Ok, so I have to say, there is NOTHING on this planet that picks me up more than sweet baby hugs n smiles n giggles. My good friend's sweet little guy (who I sneak loves from when ever I can) will be 1 on the 17th. How time flies! Seems like just yesterday I was driving to the hospital to see his brand new face!
I have been just waiting for the perfect time to use this image from Bugaboo & thought it would be just right for his birthday card. I am SOOO happy with how this turned out!
I colored him in w/ pencils (I think I am starting to get the hang of it! lol) & went over the sunset & grass portions w/ my blender pen to get the colors to "bleed" together the way I wanted. I have never tried it w/ my pencil colorings, just chalks so I was pleased w/ how it worked. The sentiment is a sticker i found in my rat pile of stuff in my drawer & the DP is from my stash pile. I love the cowboy themed word paper & have been using it in small chunks to stretch it out.. It's almost gone so I will have to figure out where it came from so I can get more! (silly rabbit..I only got 1 sheet- one more reason to always buy in 3's!)
I am entering this wonderful b-day card on:
The Sweet Stop, it is inspired by their sketch this week

See the Flowers Smiling

The good news about the upcoming time change is that spring is on it's way. The crazy weather this year has made it seem like it is miles away, but really it's just around the corner (be optimistic!)
Image is from Stamp Fairy, colored w/ pencils; sentiment is from Hero Arts; shiny blue cardstock is Core'dinations, flowers rub ons are from Doodlebug Designs, pink bling is Recollections from Michael's. DP: dots & brown w flowers are from my scrap pile & the script is My Minds Eye

oh how committed I am to my computer

My goodness, how you don't realize just how much you rely on something until it's not there. I had planned to post this today during my lunch hour, however my trusty computer at work decided it needed a day off! I felt like a dog chasing my tail all day long as I tried to figure out just what it needed & finally sent it home with the tech guy. UGG!!! but if all works out, I will have my little friend back tomorrow lol!
So here she is FINALLY!! The adorable Gabrielle from Kraftin Kimmies
I used colors I normally wouldn't (challenging myself to use the papers I hoard away in my stash pile) & I think I like how it turned out. At first I wasn't quite sure what I was thinking when I really looked at the papers I had pulled out. The blue DP Gabrielle is matted w/ is DCWV & the rest is all My Minds Eye. The sentiment is from this months set at The {Stamps} of Life. I love being a club member-it's great getting surprised with wonderful, fun stamps in the mailbox every month! The flowers are Prima, the pearls are from Michael's, & the twine is some I had in my sewing basket from days gone by. I colored Gabrielle w/ pencils. I was going for strawberry blond hair, not quite sure if I hit that one!
I am posting this to:
Kraftin Kimmies : use twine or floss

Friends

It is faint in the photo, but my favorite line on the DP is a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson & it reads
" A friend is one who knows us but loves us anyway"
I just LOVE this image from Bugaboo! It is so sweet & was so fun to color! I used my colored pencils & a little bit of Pear ink (CTMH) to color the image, the flowers are stamps from a set called flower2doodle from The {Stamps} of Life. It is one of my fave sets, I reach for it all the time! Just love 2 step stamping. I used Pear & Gyspy ink from CTMH, then cut them out, coverd with glossy accent & then added green glitter glue for the centers. I used embroirdery floss to pull in the sections of ribbon under the flowers & then added them w/ pop dots. I attached the matted image to the ribbon using small silver brads. The DP is new (Joann's had it on sale 6 sheets for 96cents how can ya go wrong?!!) and I didn't write down who it was by before I wrote this.
I am entering this at:
Catch the Bug : Green + a Sketch
Do You Stack Up : use Green
Simon Says Stamp : 1 image, 2 design papers, & 3 different types of embellishemnts
Stamp Something : Digi Days (use a digi stamp)

Happy Friday! :) hugs, Candi

My Organization Struggle

So I have been struggling w/ organization as of late. I have stuff I don't even know about, remember or just can;t find when I do think of it. So I have been seeing these fun, magnetic dry erase boards all over the place & thought one (now I am thinking 2, or 3LOL!)might be useful. So I hung it tonight & thought humm, needs a little sprucing up. The challenge at Stamp Fairy is "Anything but a card" so I decided to make a magnet for my new board
I colored her in w/ my pencils, added a little fluff fibers (I just got from the dollar bin at Michael's) for fur, some glitter to her wings, and glossy accent to her nose, feet, & spots on her wings Here is what the board looks like now, my plans are to get some more of the canisters to store ribbon scraps &  other flowers, etc.
I am also uploading this to The Stamping Boutique where the challenge is Sparkly, texture or buttons. This is  their first ever challenge. I'm pretty excited to have found them & to play along. Also entering on Do You Stack Up anything goes

I Love ATC's!

OK, A few months ago if someone asked me to make an ATC the question would have been followed with a "HU?!" and a stupid look. But oh how things can change! ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) are 2.5"x3.5" and are all about personal style. Oh & fun, fun, fun! So when I saw that the challenge at Meljen's was to make an ATC I was all in. Ok, SO with the way my week played out last week, I am all in -just at the last minute! But I am so happy that I was able to have some time at my craft desk tonight. Worth staying up a little late lol!
So here it is:
The best part about an ATC is the small size, so you can use up stuff out of your scrap pile. I colored the image (From Meljen's, I found it on Free Digital Stamps a while back) w/ pencils, used scrap DP, & the sentiment was also cut from a scrap of DP. The red star I cut using one of my old tools in the back of a drawer...my Coluzzle. I had forgot I even had it until I was trying to organize the other day (an on going battle, most of the time it seems like I am losing!) The other star is a Heidi Swap chipboard colored w/ chalks, then I glued a cut out star from the background dp & then glazed the whole thing over w/ glossy accent.
I am also entering on:
Do You Stack Up anything goes
Sentimental Sunday anything goes
