What a roller coaster ride the past few weeks have been! I had co-workers gone at a business conference & was left in charge & covering their clients. That along w/ all the stuff going on at home left me with no energy or time to craft. Plus with the days going back & forth between snow & 60 degrees, it's been hard to adjust & decide just what to do (I did get a little sun burned on Sunday... it was TOO nice to not be outside) So now that things are a little more "normal" I was able to sneak away to my craft desk & work on a needed birthday card:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fP5rKhsiSBo/T1kUka5qDQI/AAAAAAAAARw/a78U91oecQc/s1600/wish.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fP5rKhsiSBo/T1kUka5qDQI/AAAAAAAAARw/a78U91oecQc/s320/wish.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>For this one, I inked up a doily w/ Ranger Distress ink in Vintage photo so that it would match the color scheme (that white was a little blaring!) then I inked the edges of the tag w/ vintage photo & then used chalk ink to distress & frame the sentiment. the pearls are Recollections & the dp came from my scrap pile- this is one of my favorite color combos, so it wasn't hard to find scraps to work with! the buttons are some I picked up in the dollar bin at Micheal's & the stamps are from the birthday4cookie set by <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">the {Stamps} of Life.</a> I colored the candles in w/ my Prisma pencils. <br />
<br />
I'm playing along w/ the following challenges:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-395GlI9Av0o/T1kWZMQ-uOI/AAAAAAAAAR4/CBSNwfqB9Wo/s1600/Mojo231Sketch.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="172" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-395GlI9Av0o/T1kWZMQ-uOI/AAAAAAAAAR4/CBSNwfqB9Wo/s200/Mojo231Sketch.gif" width="200" /></a></div><a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/">Mojo Monday,</a> Sketch # 231<br />
<a href="http://divasbydesignchallenge.blogspot.com/">Divas by Design,</a> use your favorite things: my favorites are the color combo, using sketches (love sketches!) & distress inks<br />

It seems like it was just New Year's, I blinked & now it is nearly Valentine's Day..... I've been MIA lately, maybe that's why I've lost track of time. Lot's going on at home (ugh! tired of stress!) & I have been catching up on some reading too (awww my long lost pals, really good books! lol!) So I decided I was well past due for some crafty time! (plus, having a holiday coming up that requires gifts &/or cards is a good push!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uvlkR8V8uXE/TzQRLvIQsqI/AAAAAAAAARg/-pd1NR7AQg0/s1600/happiness4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" sda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uvlkR8V8uXE/TzQRLvIQsqI/AAAAAAAAARg/-pd1NR7AQg0/s320/happiness4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>So here is a little goody I put together for the hubby. The frame & sentiment I picked up off the internet.. before I started tracking where I found stuff, sorry I can't point you where to find (I think the sentiment was a freebie from Sentimental Sunday). I inked up w/ distressed inks in vintage photo & fired brick then fussy cut & added a few stamped hearts-I added a few to the cardstock & dp also. The dp is from my scrap pile, & the flowers are some I picked up in the dollar bin at Michaels a few weeks ago. The pearl is from CTMH & i colored it w/ my Bic markers so it would match the color scheme <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aSgsgUDHXhc/TzQSkpX9pCI/AAAAAAAAARo/FrM-Z75qQe8/s1600/happiness2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="299" sda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aSgsgUDHXhc/TzQSkpX9pCI/AAAAAAAAARo/FrM-Z75qQe8/s320/happiness2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I got REALLY wild & did the inside of the card too... using the same distressed inks over a hand written sentiment plus I followed the same basic layout from the <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/">Mojo Monday</a> sketch I used for the front. The heart in the back ground & the stamped corner are all from a set called Hearts2love from the <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">{Stamps} of Life</a> so are the hearts on the card front. Have I ever mentioned that I {heart} her stamps?! <br />
Here are all the challenges I am playing along with this week:<br />

Anyhow, I decided I just couldn't put off blogging any longer because I fell IN LOVE with all of the fun characters Jodie has over at <a href="http://www.bugaboostamps.com/">Bugaboo</a> & because, well, it really looked like it would be fun! Gus is one of those wonderful characters that got me hooked (along w/ Stella..can't love Gus & not love Stella!)<br />
Here is another of the co-workers b-day cards I made this week featuring Gus <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IXGafv1Bmfc/TxDViKUT9wI/AAAAAAAAARA/8XEbeZm9C3E/s1600/gus1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" kba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IXGafv1Bmfc/TxDViKUT9wI/AAAAAAAAARA/8XEbeZm9C3E/s320/gus1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>so I did have to alter Gus just a little to add to the humor...the person the card is for is always wearing a cowboy hat, so I just HAD to add one, as well as color in a few chin whiskers to mirror the person it was for. The dp was from my scrap pile & I colored w/ my prisma's-except for the hat, I used my Bic markers on it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pW1-tvK6oxw/TxDV_NfOfVI/AAAAAAAAARI/H4beK72yXxE/s1600/gus2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" kba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pW1-tvK6oxw/TxDV_NfOfVI/AAAAAAAAARI/H4beK72yXxE/s320/gus2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Here is the inside.. Too fun! Everyone loved this card when they signed it!<br />
I am entering it on these challenges:<br />

I have been so caught up with the holidays & then trying to get myself back into some kind of normal routine & keep myself from falling into hibernation (which REALLY sounds good right about now..) that I completely forgot not 1, not 2, but 3 co-workers birthday's & it is not even quite the middle of the month! UGG! What a way to start the year! I feel so horrible! So here is the first one I made, I think that the cuteness factor made up for the tardiness... (her birthday was the 2nd)<br />

I have one more gift to get for the Christmas party at my in-laws. Whew! I really didn't think i would make it. Today I made lunch for all my co-workers & gifted them all with note card sets (made by me of course!) I can't wait to post them in the coming weeks because they turned out quite fabby if I say so myself! <br />
Today I am posting the last 2 Christmas cards I made, one for my boss & one for my very good co-worker friend. <br />

I just love the look of pure joy on her face. I colored w/ my Prisma's & used goo gone to blend, I cut the snowflakes w/ my cricut, added glitter glue by Studio G. Same day, marked on the calendar. Yet it never fails, it seems to sneak up on me & all of a sudden BLAMO!! It's only a few days away. I think I am very near done with my shopping. I got most of my out of town gifts shipped. I have most of my cards made....I think! I have not started to even think about my Christmas card list, so I'm not really sure if I am near the finish line. Hopefully the boys will give me a little quiet tonight so that I can think & get some envelopes addressed. Cross your fingers for me. I may have to unplug the xbox just to guarantee it happens lol! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-njs6v_V_NJw/TvEpTu2ZruI/AAAAAAAAAP0/DY6KL8SIJP0/s1600/snowbears1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="221" oda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-njs6v_V_NJw/TvEpTu2ZruI/AAAAAAAAAP0/DY6KL8SIJP0/s320/snowbears1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>So that cards that I have been able to finish I have been making in sets of 4 or six. these ones I made using a <a href="http://www.stampfairy.com/">Stamp Fairy</a> image, i think he is called Barry January. I added a few stamped in snow flakes, colored him using my Prisma pencils. I had planned to add glitter to the snow, but in my late night crafting adventures, I forgot. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iWyiknokgBc/TvEqJKSRQvI/AAAAAAAAAP8/j0LAy3XUVos/s1600/snowbears2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" oda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iWyiknokgBc/TvEqJKSRQvI/AAAAAAAAAP8/j0LAy3XUVos/s320/snowbears2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VeIJzZFUAzQ/TvEqOI6LzaI/AAAAAAAAAQE/6nmJvzyOZag/s1600/snowbears3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VeIJzZFUAzQ/TvEqOI6LzaI/AAAAAAAAAQE/6nmJvzyOZag/s320/snowbears3.JPG" width="260" /></a></div>I have been crazy busy getting all my crafted Christmas presents made that I haven't been able to post any of my cards. We always do a tree & it is a true team effort. As soon as the main theme is announced, we brain storm ideas & usually try to do our own spin on it so that we can get down & crafty & end up with a finished product that is truly "us". This year the theme is "Classic Christmas" and our spin for our tree is "Classic Cowgirl" with the over all theme being a Dale Evens quote "It's the way you ride the trail that counts".<br />

The last one is a photo we found online &I distressed the edges w/ my distress ink) & one of the girls here painted on the gold design (free hand-didn't she do an amazing job?!) and I added blingies. We did 25 of these big decoupaged wooden ornaments, 18small circle wooden ornaments, 40 grapevine stars w/ woodsy garland (not pictured). So needless to say, we have been busy! (why I haven't blogged for a few weeks... With Thanksgiving & this, I haven't had time for my own stuff)<br />
<br />
We decorate tonight & the auction is Saturday night. I will have to do an update post w/ pics of the finished tree & then how much of a bid it goes for. So exciting! This is my "kick off" to the Christmas season & I am really getting into the mood! Which is a good thing because I've got a TON of cards to make & gifts to get done!<br />

(I don't necessarily love the freezing old part lol!) So that was my inspiration for this card<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SvtZhR5xcXc/TsWZUGwmYmI/AAAAAAAAAO8/gqbUf2nLdVo/s1600/peace.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hda="true" height="316" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SvtZhR5xcXc/TsWZUGwmYmI/AAAAAAAAAO8/gqbUf2nLdVo/s320/peace.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>The stamps are all <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">The {Stamps} of Life</a> (colored w/ my Bic markers) & I layered the torn white cardstock w/ different sized foam dots to add dimension. I also added just a light shadow of blue ink across the top & dusted w/ glitter so it really sparkles. The little puffs of smoke coming out of the chimney are also popped up w/ foam tape. <br />

I've been gone for a bit, off on vacation in warm, tropical Mexico & I have to say I've missed being crafty, but I am really missing the warm air & sparkling pool at the resort right now! It's always so hard to jump back into "normal" after a wonderful break away. I am HATING my washing machine right now.. seems like I just can't get away from it! Tee Hee! Here is the fabulous view I just can't shake<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zMGc__I0ujg/TrLPaR77MdI/AAAAAAAAAOU/ZaQ2gZvj6ZI/s1600/cabo.sunset2011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ida="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zMGc__I0ujg/TrLPaR77MdI/AAAAAAAAAOU/ZaQ2gZvj6ZI/s320/cabo.sunset2011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Ok, so enough whining & on to business <strong><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">:-) </span></strong><br />
It is my Boss's birthday today & here is a little sumthin sumthin I put together for her.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-txIp3CsMwkg/TrLUtuwKUcI/AAAAAAAAAOc/OhyzC-ZrevI/s1600/hb2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" ida="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-txIp3CsMwkg/TrLUtuwKUcI/AAAAAAAAAOc/OhyzC-ZrevI/s320/hb2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>The dp is all from a huge stack (don't remember which one or who it is by-I think My Mind's Eye) the ink is CTMH, the chalk ink I used behind the flowers & also around the edge is Studio G. I used the branches4flowers from <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">The {Stamps} of Life</a> & the sentiment is from birthday4cookie. <br />

It is like October hit & the temperatures automatically took a nose dive lol! I've had to build a fire a couple of nights now to take the chill off the house & have woke up to find frosty roof tops a couple times too. Leaves are starting to change colors & drop & the sun is setting earlier every day. Which means less time to do outside chores & more time to craft! (not always the case but it's nice to dream!) Last night after taking the boy to get some school stuff I was feeling the crafty urge & the bright nearly full moon outside inspired me to create this.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mv1lbBmlQyA/Tpch5wj7MLI/AAAAAAAAANU/uN3oH2etdgw/s1600/owloween2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="315" oda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mv1lbBmlQyA/Tpch5wj7MLI/AAAAAAAAANU/uN3oH2etdgw/s320/owloween2.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is so much cuter in real life..so hard to photograph such a dark card. I chalked in some depth to the moon w/ grey chalk & that doesn't show in the photograph either. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>The star DP is DCWV & I used stamps from 2 different sets from <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">The {Stamps} of Life</a> owls2love & the clouds are from kites2build. I hand cut the circle for the moon so that it wouldn't be perfectly round & added some iridescent glitter glue around the outside edge to give it a sparkly halo & attached the fussy cut owl w/ foam squares so he pops up a little. Easy peasy Halloweenie! <br />

That hasn't happened FOREVER! <br />

I used foam squares to add the stack of prezzies so that the edge of my joy fold card would rest underneath to stay closed & the present he is holding is on a foam dot too. The fluffy bow on top of it is a prima flower folded in half & trimmed a little w/ a brad added. <br />

The frame is a {Stamps} of Life also-it was a fun freebie Stephanie added in w/ a set a couple months back & the sentiment is from this month's set. The dp is a Heidi Grace design I picked up last weekend, again I saw, loved it, had to have it! I also used a gift certificate from my mom I've been holding onto to pick up some Prismacolors pencils... OH MY GOSH! How nice it is to have them! SOOO much better to color with than the ones I had picked up from the school supply section. I've been wanting to try coloring on kraft (I've been drooling over the incredible images that <a href="http://dorcasdesigns.blogspot.com/">Dorcas</a> creates, click on the link & check out her work!) I've got a ways to go before my blending & shading skills are perfected but it sure is fun to practice!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

It's a good day here, because it's Friday however I'm just a little sad..... so hard to believe it is the LAST Friday of the summer. WHERE DID TIME GO? Seems like I didn't have nearly as much play time this summer & have worked way too much. Guess I will have to make up for it by playing extra hard this winter....</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7tWw7eZGqfo/TmD-mjqJ-KI/AAAAAAAAAM8/bmZAW9xf6no/s1600/baby1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7tWw7eZGqfo/TmD-mjqJ-KI/AAAAAAAAAM8/bmZAW9xf6no/s320/baby1.JPG" width="320" xaa="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Ok, now on to the business at hand ;) I don't get to make baby cards very often, so it was quite fun to get the chance to make one. In fact, I will need to make a second one soon lol! two different friends of the family have announced grand babies coming soon. For this one, I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to do & it took just a little work with positioning to get it to translate onto cardstock. I really wanted to have the baby peeking out of the buggy & was going to merge the images, but then I thought it would be way cuter to punch a window & have the baby on the inside of the card </div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

It is SOOOO much fun getting brand spankin' new rubba in the mail the first of every month. But I have to admit, I have been bad lately. Some how this summer has turned into the craziest, busiest ever & for the past few months, the new stamps have came in, been lovingly placed on my craft desk & then not touched again. So sad! So when the opportunity came up to craft last night, I had to reach for my August set to redeem myself before the month was over! And here is what I came up with<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tpoAPBivYew/TlPb7RtSd2I/AAAAAAAAAMg/6S6XLFUAP-M/s1600/floral.thanks.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tpoAPBivYew/TlPb7RtSd2I/AAAAAAAAAMg/6S6XLFUAP-M/s320/floral.thanks.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>The set is called branches4flowers & boy was it a fun set to play with & it has a ton of great sentiments with it. I used CTMH ink in Gypsy & new England Ivy as well as a lavender colored chalk ink that I picked up at Michael's for the flowers & the leaves. I inked the edges first in Vintage Photo distress ink & then I went over it w/ a sand colored chalk ink to blend it in & give it the look I wanted. I still am working on my technique- haven't quite got the sponging down the way I would like it to be. I cut a few of the larger flowers out, bent the edges a bit & then glued them on for a bit more dimension. I don't know who told me that they were wonderful, smart dogs. All I do know is that they are WAY different from the black lab that we had before.... My sweet little fur baby has been with me for a little over 3 years now & let me tell you there were days when I wasn't sure if he would make it with our family! If you have never had the pleasure of being in the "pack" of a heeler then you are not going to relate. OMGosh, it is a different world! If they are bored, or unhappy, everyone is unhappy & they will find ways to keep themselves occupied & the activities they find on their own are not always family approved! (I believe as a pup my guy chewed thru 4 garden hoses & could not keep the stuffing inside any bed I ever brought home for him) But now I have a special friend who wants to mind & behave -after that initial rush of excitement that he is no longer alone..no one has EVER been so happy to see me! And I am truly the center of his world. <br />
<br />
I fell in love with the Bronte images at <a href="http://digitalpenciltoo.com/">Mo's Digital Pencil</a> because they remind me so much of my Rhett. Of course he hasn't quite acquired the stocky body yet, but the looks Mo captures are spot on for his personality. The challenge this week at <a href="http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/">Mo's Digital Challenge</a> is to make an easel card w/ an animal on it so I had to use one w/ Bronte<br />

I needed a quick lil sumthin sumthin to pop in the mail & wanted to play along with a couple challenges while I was at it & YAY! here it is!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I colored little miss Cherry w/ my pencils & then blended w/ paper stumps & some goo gone. I used my markers on the cherries & the basket</td></tr>
</tbody></table>I recently found some great digi stamps that I LOVE, by <a href="http://digitalpenciltoo.com/">Mo Manning</a>. Oh my gosh, I could spend an entire pay check on her images! They are all too sweet-I especially love her Bronte images, they remind me so much of my stinky, hairy Red Heeler fur baby Rhett! I will be coloring up some of those later, can't wait! So any how there is a challenge blog for her stuff <a href="http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/">Bronte & Bellas Challenge</a> & the challenge this week is something sweet but it must be food related. How sweet is lil miss Cherry?! I am head over heels for this image (this is the second card I've made using her) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2Xo0po-br5Q/TjmJzljN5vI/AAAAAAAAAMI/Zw1hSF4lwwo/s1600/SSS119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2Xo0po-br5Q/TjmJzljN5vI/AAAAAAAAAMI/Zw1hSF4lwwo/s200/SSS119.jpg" t$="true" width="154" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I used this weeks <a href="http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/">Sweet Stop Sketch</a> for a starting point & the DP is from DCWV Sweet pad. The sentiment is from a DCWV Friends sticker pad. When I saw this incredibly adorable image called <a href="http://digitalpenciltoo.com/index.php/Shire.html">Shire</a> at <a href="http://digitalpenciltoo.com/">Mo's Digital Pencil</a> I knew it would be PERFECT for this person. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mvHnvnNKyzI/TjGMtSCFzVI/AAAAAAAAALw/sjZzngdVs2A/s1600/happiness.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mvHnvnNKyzI/TjGMtSCFzVI/AAAAAAAAALw/sjZzngdVs2A/s320/happiness.jpg" t$="true" width="272" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I used my pencils to color the main part of the image using the Gamsol method & then used markers for the fence, grass & to add a little dimension to the dirt. Then I used chalk ink for the dirt & the cloudy sky. The sentiment is a rub on, i believe by Making memories </td></tr>
</tbody></table> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The challenge last week at Crazy4challenges was to make a Joy fold card & even tho I wasn't able to get in on the challenge, I really wanted to try it since I haven't made a lot of cards w/ specialty folds. How fun! This week's sketch at <a href="http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/">CPS</a> fit perfect w/ the idea I had in mind for the front of this card</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here is the inside</div> <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A24GLXEDR7M/TjGNThIXtiI/AAAAAAAAAL0/27zFnHEWbGA/s1600/happiness2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="292" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A24GLXEDR7M/TjGNThIXtiI/AAAAAAAAAL0/27zFnHEWbGA/s320/happiness2.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">For the inside, I cropped the main image down to focus on their sweet faces, used a circle punch & then doodled around it. I was trying to do a bit of a barbed wire look w/ it to keep w/ the country/western horsey theme. </td></tr>
</tbody></table> <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QbuL8NxN8pw/TjGNX27vm_I/AAAAAAAAAL4/TcXVvO5vjV8/s1600/happiness3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QbuL8NxN8pw/TjGNX27vm_I/AAAAAAAAAL4/TcXVvO5vjV8/s320/happiness3.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">close up. I forgot to add the sentiment inside before I photographed :( It read: "Wishing you a day filled with all the things that bring you happiness & joy. Happy Birthday". I attached it to the right of the girl & horse image.</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So I was very good & got all the info together on the makers of the dp because I used so many different patterns & then I left my little sticky note at home on my craft desk :( I am pretty sure the double sided brown swirl/lt blue is American Crafts, I know the horse is a Debbie Mumm design but I can't remember the company, & the word DP on the inside I really can't remember. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I really really love how this card turned out! & my co-worker/friend just loved it too! YAY! I think I will definitely be making more joy fold cards in the future!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I am playing along with the following:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/">CPS</a>, Sketch</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.doitwithdigischallenge.blogspot.com/">Cardmadfairys</a>, Girly</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://divasbydesignchallenge.blogspot.com/">Divas By Design</a>, Summer</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://thespottedchick.blogspot.com/">The Spotted Chick</a>, TKT#52</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/">Make it Monday</a>, Anything goes + linky party</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://totallystampalicious.blogspot.com/">Totally Stampalicious</a>, Anything goes</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">and for the first time, I followed the recipe- My ingredients are in <span style="color: blue;">blue</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://cateredcrop.com/">The Catered Crop</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QLvx2dpd3SI/TjGXjS9MszI/AAAAAAAAAMA/rANXimvZPIU/s1600/followtherecipe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="88" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QLvx2dpd3SI/TjGXjS9MszI/AAAAAAAAAMA/rANXimvZPIU/s200/followtherecipe.jpg" t$="true" width="200" /></a></div>Here's your FTR17 recipe. And I have actually been able to steal a few minutes here & there to actually post what I've made! yay! The last few weeks have been kind of hard, busy, & un-inspired so it REALLY feels sooo good to back at my craft desk. So here is my second card for the day:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PcS7pQn3bnQ/TioNlmZWCoI/AAAAAAAAALo/iePTWeVM-24/s1600/jonbday.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PcS7pQn3bnQ/TioNlmZWCoI/AAAAAAAAALo/iePTWeVM-24/s320/jonbday.JPG" t$="true" width="256" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Its for my nephew's 17th birthday this weekend. I'm glad that July is near an end because I have had A LOT of birthday cards to make! I think only 1 or 2 more to go. My son's birthday is tomorrow (he is pretty happy that he is the older one between him & my nephew.. by 1 whoppin day lol!) and he is not a sentimental kind of kid so I gave up on giving him any kind of card at any time. The cake image was a freebie I found on <a href="http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/">Dustin Pike</a>'s blog... He has some very fun stuff! both dp's are Imaginesce. I inked around the edges of the circle piece w/ some Navy Martha Stewart ink. I colored a second candle & applied it over the other w/ foam tape just for fun. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p7oNPsD1d9E/TioQChFsFXI/AAAAAAAAALs/WP14oS9BAQQ/s1600/Mojo200Sketch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p7oNPsD1d9E/TioQChFsFXI/AAAAAAAAALs/WP14oS9BAQQ/s200/Mojo200Sketch.png" t$="true" width="145" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I got my start with the <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/">Mojo Monday</a> sketch #200, but used the mini clothes pins in place of the bow... figured it would up the "manly" factor lol! I am also going to play along at <a href="http://thepixiecottage.blogspot.com/">The Pixie Cottage</a> where the theme is Fun with Food & at <a href="http://cardmakinmamas.blogspot.com/">Card Makin Mamas</a> where the theme is Food & Drink.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">So that's it for me! Have a great weekend everyone! And hopefully I can keep up this momentum for next week too!</div>candihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09573842761417513423noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6198635281596605578.post-42459645121427919392011-07-22T10:06:00.000-07:002011-07-22T10:06:50.105-07:00Cozy Winter Wishes<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

But also a little sad :( I have been having a lot of fun this week playing along with the Christmas in July mini challenges at <a href="http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/">Catch the Bug</a> (today is anything goes) & I now have 5 more holiday cards in my file for this December. WOO HOO! I really like how this simple card turned out so I do believe I will be making a few more very similar. I may actually end up with enough homemade cards for my entire holiday card list this year! Hee Hee.... I have been pressed for time the past few years, so I have not sent out as many cards as I really wanted. <br />
So on to the details! The sweet image is by Jodie over at <a href="http://www.bugaboostamps.com/">Bugaboo</a>, I colored with my Bic markers & then sponged a little chalk ink around him. I used some liquid applique for the "fuzzy" parts on the hat & the cuffs, added a chunk of ribbon, then added a little rub-on for the sentiment. The dp came from the same pack, but once again, I failed to pay attention to who it was by..I promiss to be better :)<br />
<br />
I am also playing along with:<br />

Don't be surprised if you see me back again today... I have been on a creative spree this week! If not, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!candihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09573842761417513423noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6198635281596605578.post-11592134609831987452011-07-21T12:52:00.000-07:002011-07-21T12:52:11.610-07:00Snow BusinessWow this week is flying by! The Christmas in July mini challenge at <a href="http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/">Catch The Bug</a> is Snow Business- make project w/ snow or snowmen. I just love this line of snowmen so it was fun to get to color one up!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pK15mm1camY/TiiAUI9NPVI/AAAAAAAAALU/aQkNtDEHveU/s1600/snow1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pK15mm1camY/TiiAUI9NPVI/AAAAAAAAALU/aQkNtDEHveU/s320/snow1.JPG" t$="true" width="249" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Up close look, I used colored him w/ my pencils & then added glitter to give the snow some sparkle then threw on some bling & some blingy snowflakes for giggles :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Tx2ImqUbev0/TiiAr0UGiNI/AAAAAAAAALY/k3SZaMhu3hc/s1600/snow2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Tx2ImqUbev0/TiiAr0UGiNI/AAAAAAAAALY/k3SZaMhu3hc/s320/snow2.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div>OK, so I was horrible again today-I have no idea who the dp is by, the sentiment is a sticker & it is off a sheet of freebies I got from a magazine renewal. I have to say I have had a lot of inspiration flowing this week & it has been very nice to get a few holidays cards built up in my file. I think there should be a "Christmas" celebration every month & maybe I wouldn't have to rush around to get cards finished on the 15th of December! ROFL! I don't think my holiday traditions would quite feel the same without that pressure over me tho... <br />
<br />
I am also entering on the following:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EkxYVQDxRr4/TiiB8IJvVPI/AAAAAAAAALc/HxCyZT8stI4/s1600/SSS117.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EkxYVQDxRr4/TiiB8IJvVPI/AAAAAAAAALc/HxCyZT8stI4/s200/SSS117.jpg" t$="true" width="154" /></a></div><a href="http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/">Sweet Stop Sketches</a>, Sketch w/ a spin this week: Christmas in July<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1B6BKlz9O-Y/TidpNkMOJgI/AAAAAAAAALM/Hjb6K836dwg/s1600/benaughty2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="347" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1B6BKlz9O-Y/TidpNkMOJgI/AAAAAAAAALM/Hjb6K836dwg/s400/benaughty2.JPG" t$="true" width="400" /></a></div>I colored him w/ my Bic markers & colored pencils, added some glitter to the "fluffy" areas & then added some glossy accent to make his glasses good & thick. Filled with mini challenges each day, a blog hop & lots of prizes! SO I am a little late getting stuff posted :( but it's better late than never! And since the very first challenges I entered when I started my blog where the mini challenges for their birthday I just had to play along with this week's mini challenges too! I love me my <a href="http://www.bugaboostamps.com/">Bugaboo</a>!<br />
SO the first mini challenge was to use non-traditional colors & here is what I came up with<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yre77ORmWnw/Tib-Gt8RS0I/AAAAAAAAAK8/gS1RFInNbFw/s1600/giftcard.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yre77ORmWnw/Tib-Gt8RS0I/AAAAAAAAAK8/gS1RFInNbFw/s320/giftcard.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div>I used one of Jodie's sweet new tag images to make this fun gift card holder. The gift card slips inside & is held in place by the ribbon. I used an ornament stamp from my Holly4Christmas set from <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">The {Stamps} of Life</a> on the light blue background cardstock<br />
I am also entering this on:<br />
<a href="http://thestampingboutiquechallengeblog.blogspot.com/">The Stamping Boutique</a>, use cool colors<br />
<a href="http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/">Stamp Something</a>, Christmas<br />
<br />
Well that's it for now.. I will be back later with more-I was a busy girl last night! I love when imspiration hits!candihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09573842761417513423noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6198635281596605578.post-42817177302188511912011-07-19T19:06:00.000-07:002011-07-19T19:06:47.056-07:00Better late than neverI have been meaning to post this since last Wednesday... I've been crazy busy at work, crazy at home & then I took a much needed four day weekend to relax & celebrate my birthday. I figured that I should since it is the last I will publicly celebrate- I've decided if you are gonna be the same age for a while, it may as well be 39! ROFL! <br />
So anyhow, I made this using last week's CPS Sketch as a starting point with my cousin in mind. It was her birthday on the 16th. (She loved it by the way)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6n_C5xQ7bd0/TiY2Rt7AGoI/AAAAAAAAAK4/y-2i0NARfTs/s1600/sunnyday%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6n_C5xQ7bd0/TiY2Rt7AGoI/AAAAAAAAAK4/y-2i0NARfTs/s320/sunnyday%255B1%255D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I used my cricut to cut the sun & the circle background, the stamps I used around the border are from 2 different sets from <a href="http://stephaniebarnardstamps.com/products.htm">The {Stamps} of Life,</a> I used a Scarlette image (colored w/ my Bic markers & attached w/ foam tape) from <a href="http://www.bugaboostamps.com/">Bugaboo</a>, & the DP is Flair Design- I cut out the beach chair from one piece & layered over the word sheet.<br />
I am squeaking in just in time to enter on the following:<br />
<a href="http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> Anything Goes<br />
<a href="http://cardmakinmamas.blogspot.com/">Card Making Mama's</a> Summertime<br />
<br />
I have a billion ideas flowing right now, I guess a little time to re-set helps with that, so I should be back a lot more this week! Later!candihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09573842761417513423noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6198635281596605578.post-33262183817865924672011-07-12T10:17:00.000-07:002011-07-12T10:17:04.311-07:00CherriesSome of my favorite childhood memories involve picking cherries with my grandpa. My granparents had several fruit trees on their property, but the cherries, well they were the sweetest & so they were my favorites! I can remember being very small & grandpa would climb up the ladder & then drop the cherries down to me so I could "pick them" too. So when I saw this ADORABLE image at <a href="http://digitalpenciltoo.com/">Mo's Digital Pencil</a> called "Cherry" I almost started crying (grandpa has been gone for a while) because of the special memories it brought. So I had to have her! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0rB8S3I-C-I/Thx7_ucfCFI/AAAAAAAAAKw/Z0lUOSvgXNs/s1600/cherry2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0rB8S3I-C-I/Thx7_ucfCFI/AAAAAAAAAKw/Z0lUOSvgXNs/s320/cherry2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I also know that my mom holds those same memories pretty close to her heart, and her birthday is coming up next week, so I made this to be her birthday card & I am hoping she will love it as well! I used a few different mediums for coloring: on her dress I used both markers & a blender pen dipped in Sky ink from CTMH; colored pencils for her skin & hair (I made here a redhead because that's what I am- of course it was flaming orange when I was little lol!); markers for the basket, cherries & grass; & then I used chalk ink to do a bright lightly cloudy summer sky. The dp is DCWV, Sweet stack & cardstock is Bazzil. I am not sure where the happy birthday tag came from, I found it on <a href="http://freedigitalstamps.blogspot.com/">Free DigitalStamps</a> when I first discovered digital stamps & did not properly track them. The other sentiment is from <a href="http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/">Create with TLC</a><br />
<br />
I am entering this on the following challenges:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKnnO27XwcQ/Thx-IfB8uBI/AAAAAAAAAK0/-nLix6hCA2A/s1600/SSS116.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="154" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKnnO27XwcQ/Thx-IfB8uBI/AAAAAAAAAK0/-nLix6hCA2A/s200/SSS116.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><a href="http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/">Sweet Stop Sketches</a> #116<br />

Well that's it for me today! I had a crazy week last week between the holiday, the first of the month/missing a day for the holiday & over all just being wiped out, so I am really, really hoping to do more crafting this week. Plus, I still have a BUNCH of birthday cards & a couple baby shower cards to get done so you should be seeing more from me this week!candihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09573842761417513423noreply@blogger.com7
