A Lil Bit of Humor

Everyone needs just a little humor in their day right?! I love the Bugaboo line for that (& many other reasons!) So it just seemed perfect to pair the challenges at Crazy 4 Challenges "Add Some Humor" & at Totally Stampalicious "Use your favorite Bugaboo Stamp/Digi" For this card I used Dottie Desserts, who doesn't love that sassy miss Dottie?! I think she is one of my all time fave characters.
I "dressed" her up in pink (using markers & pencils) & made her a red head & used DP from the DCWV Sweet stack & finished it off w/ some hot pink ribbon (from walmart I think)

I am also entering her on the following:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday, sketch #103
Going Grey with Scrap Creations, use at least 3 diff dp's
Divas by Design, For the Girls

Yay! It's one day closer to a long weekend! can't wait! have a much anticipated hair appointment tomorrow followed by the rest of the afternoon off! Woo Hoo! Hoping to get to town to do a little supply shopping & then have some time to myself to craft. It is not looking like the weather will be nice at all, so it should be PERFECT for spending time at the craft desk!

Yuummmm.... BBQ!

Ok so the pouring rain outside really doesn't lend itself to BBQ, but I am sure.. down right CERTAIN that BBQ weather will eventually get here lol!

I used BBQ Miles from Kraftin Kimmies & colored w/ pencils & markers. I used chalk ink for the sky & chalks to make the grill "smokin" w/ a few flecks of sparks added in w/ markers. I forgot my camera today, so I scanned the card. The image is popped up w/ foam squares-doesn't really show. DP is Flair Designs
Doesn't Miles look like he is havin a great afternoon?! I realized that Father's Day is just around the corner & I wanted to get a jump start on the "manly" cards I need to make.
I am entering this on the following:
Cute Card Thursday, use Kraft
Kraftin Kimmies, "Text me" use text
The Sweet Stop, Sketch + masculine
Catch the Bug, Dads, Grads, Summer Celebrations

Bright & Cheery!

OOOHH how good it feels to see the sun shining! It's hard to believe that Memorial Day is just around the corner when we have had such a long & drawn out winter. I think that it has only hit the average daily high temperature 3 times here in the past 50 some odd days. So one day at a time & today is gorgeous! And if it's not bright & cheery outside, at least we can make the day bright & cheery with our cards right?!

I colored Lenny Cupcakes in with my pencils & markers, added glitter to the frosting & glossy accent to the balloon, cherry & noses. The pearl accents were white- I colored them red w/ my markers
I haven't got to play along over at Stamp Fairy for a while & have been wanting to color this sweet image ever since I got it & the rainbow color theme at Just us Girls worked perfect for what I wanted to do!
I am also entering on the following challenges:
CPS, sketch
Bee-Crafty, Birthday for a young child
Crafty Sentiments, Children's cards
Corrosive Challenges, cupcakes
Stamps R Us, Going Digital (use digi image)

Ahoy Matie's!

Boy oh boy did I have a good time with this card! It took me a while to get done, but I tried out some new techniques & had a ball doing it. This is my first Teddy Bo image, he is called "Land Ahoy"
The first new thing I tried was using the gamsol blending technique w/ my colored pencils. I used goo gone w/ my paper stumps & I did this for the water, the boat, sail & Teddy Bo (I used markers for his sweater & cap). The second new thing I tried was inking in the clouds w/ some chalk ink & a torn piece of paper (masking sweet Mr Teddy Bo to do so). Then I went back over the water  w/ a sea foam green shimmery ink pad & also a light blue shimmery ink pad (both were Martha Stewart but I don't remember their names). I added glossy accent to his eyes & nose as well as the anchor. Used a navy blue ink to distress the edges. I also used my seam ripper to distress the edges of the kraft mat after I had inked on a little sand colored chalk ink to add dimension.
The dp is from my scrap pile, the tag & the sentiment are from a Hot off the Press pad, & I am not sure where the self sticky buttons are from.

I am entering on the following challenges:
CPS , Sketch
The Spotted Chick, Thats Krafty Thursday #51

Yippee for ICE CREAM!!

For the record, I do not discriminate.. I have a sweet tooth the size of Texas & if it has sugar in it, there's a good chance I will enjoy it. (in fact I live by the motto dessert first & then if there's room have dinner) But there is something just wonderful about ice cream, it is close to the top of my favorites list. And if it has chunks of candy in it & topped with hot fudge, its even better! I have to admit however that when I saw the release of this month's stamp set scream4icecream at The {Stamps} of Life I was sceptical of how much I would craft with an Ice cream set. I couldn't have been more wrong! As soon as I started to play with this set, the ideas just kept coming & coming!
So here is my first creation. I used papers from the DCWV Sweet Stack (except for the brown dots, that's from my scrap pile) I love how the paisley print on the green adds a "frostiness" & the glittery swirls on the pink looks like ripples of strawberry goo (or bubble gum?) & the grid design on the yellow worked perfect w/ the grid on the cone stamp. And because I couldn't get enough of this set, I even did the INSIDE of my card (I know..jumping out on a ledge lol!)
I spelled out the main sentiment using a set called basic4alphabet from The [Stamps} of Life & CTMH Cotton Candy ink, then framed it w/ stamps from the ice cream set. The little cone is part of the set too! How fab is that?!

So the 'recipe' for this one was inspired by this week's CPS sketch #217

Spring is in the air!

The sun is shining this morning & no clouds as far as the eye can see... I think this is only the second time in the past month that this could be said! lol! It has been a weird weather year so far & I am soooo very tired of being cold! There were a few snow flakes floating in the air the other morning & the weather man said to expect the same this coming weekend, I sure hope he turns out to be a liar! Hee hee!
Well on to business... I am a sucker for ATC's & really enjoy making them so when I found the new site ATC Challenges I really wanted to play along. Their first challenge is an "anything goes" theme so I went very "springy" with my creation.

The image is from Bugaboo & I colored with my Bic markers & some chalk then added a few spots of Glossy accents. The background DP is from  DCWV Sweet Stack, the rest were out of my scrap pile. The flower is from CTMH & I inked it w/ Cotton Candy ink. Pearls are Recollections, & I used Nautical blue ink from Martha Stewart on the edges of the blue dp & the watercan image. I sponged on CTMH Sky & Creme Brulee inks around the image

I am also entering on the following challenges:

Where oh where has my mojo gone?! And BIG news from Bugaboo!

I have been so very uninspired all this week. I'm not sure why. I have sat down at my craft desk & wanted to be creative but had no desire or spark. I colored a little one night & that helped but still no mojo. So last night I made myself put together a card. Mother's day is a blink away & I still needed a card for my MIL. So here is what I came up with
I based it on this weeks sketch at CPS, rotating the image & moving the circle shape. I also stepped up to the challenge at Totally Stampalicious &went "Old School" & used a stamp set I haven't inked for over 6 months for the back ground called Happy2becircles from The {Stamps} of Life using CTMH inks in Sky & Creme Brulee. The big flower is also from The {Stamps} of Life, a set called flowers2doodle (one of my fave's) stamped on cardstock using CTMH ink in Pear & then cut out.

The main image is a digi from Bugaboo, called Ava flowers & oh boy o boy! Jodie has opened a new store front & woowee is it nice! And check this out:
First off for the month of May everything is 50 % off! So now is a great time to stock up.
